Weddi-quette

Q. Is it okay to have a "dry" ceremony?  The bride and groom do not drink, but their family is complaining.  What is right and what is wrong?

A. Ultimately, it is the decision of the bride and groom if they will serve alcoholic beverages at the wedding, and there is nothing wrong with forgoing on the liquor.  However, if you are looking to find middle ground, think about only offering champagne or wine.  If you are having your reception and a hotel, be prepared to know that some guests will find an alcoholic beverage, but respect them if they do.  You do not want any confrontation on your wedding day.
